Other State Document — US DOS + Embassy
U.S. Department of State authentication plus embassy legalization for a non-Florida state document going to a non-Hague country. Must arrive already authenticated by its issuing state. $399.
For out-of-state documents that are already state-authenticated
If you hold a state document from somewhere other than Florida — say a New York or Texas birth certificate — and it is going to a non-Hague country, it still needs U.S. Department of State authentication followed by embassy legalization. This service handles those two federal-and-embassy steps for you.
The one requirement to know first
We authenticate Florida state documents in-house through the Florida Secretary of State. We do not process the first-step state authentication for other states. So a non-Florida document must already carry its own state’s authentication when it reaches us. If yours does not yet, contact that state’s Secretary of State first — tell us the state and we will point you to the right office — and then send it to us for the remaining steps.
The steps we handle
- U.S. Department of State authentication of your already-state-authenticated document.
- Embassy or consulate legalization for the destination country.
- Tracked return to you or a recipient abroad.
What is included
- The U.S. Department of State authentication fee.
- Embassy or consulate legalization.
- Document review and tracked shipping within the United States.
If your document is a Florida document, the Florida full-chain service is the one to use — it includes the Florida state step. If your destination is a Hague country, you need only your own state’s apostille, not this service.
